WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Then, as our children grew older, the amount of “stuff” in our home seemed to multiply overnight. Outgrown toys, books, games, clothes, shoes and more quickly began to pile up. All to often we find ourselves looking at these items cluttering our homes, realising we no longer have the need for them, but found ourselves thinking...
"but this is too good to throw out!"
...and that, ladies and gents, is where our story begins! Since launching in 2022, Too Good To Throw Market has gone from strength to strength, hosting a wide range of successful indoor events across Scotland. We quickly discovered a huge demand for welcoming, fully indoor markets that allow everyday people to sell items they no longer need, while giving buyers access to affordable alternatives to high-street prices.
With the cost of living continuing to impact families across the country, our markets provide a practical solution. Sellers can declutter their homes and make money at the same time, while buyers can save money and shop more sustainably. At the heart of everything we do is a strong sense of community, accessibility and sustainability.
WHAT WILL YOU FIND AT OUR MARKETS?
Every Too Good To Throw Market has something different. Stalls are packed with what people have at home: clothes for adults and children, games, books, wedding decorations, furnishings, pet items, old memorabilia, sports gear, designer preloved and even the odd antique or vintage item. Sometimes you find new or nearly-new pieces, sometimes it’s things you can’t get in shops anymore (we're all guilty of ordering items we don't need that we swear we're going to return, aren't we?)
You can browse your local Too Good To Throw market for just a £1.50 entry fee per person (under 16's go free but must be with a grown up!). Why an entry fee? Simple — events like this cost a lot to run, and as much as we’d love to make it completely free… things need paid! 💸
And just a wee note… while we love giving items a second chance, if something has really seen better days, smells a bit “cupboard-y” after years in storage, or isn’t quite fit for purpose anymore — it’s probably not for here! 🙈
